Current events

Maybe it's just me, but does it seem like all on the news is bad?

bbc news is my homepage and I cringe in aniticipation everytime i open up the explorer. What's with the bizarre weather? and I'm getting burned with soaring gas prices driving 80miles to n from work everyday. And the innocent kids who died in Paris becos the people supposed to be watching out for them didn't want to spend a few extra bucks to provide better housing.

I'm not sure anymore whether to support or oppose the Prez...though I don't recall ever supporting him. Shehan and the rest have a right to oppose but i dunno...I'm humpty dumpty on the whole thing. I'm not overly optimistic the new Iraqi constitution will hold...but I'm glad the Sad. is not in control anymore, i suppose any place will be better off without his oppression.

Can anybody tell me whatz up hiphop? i wasn't even suprised to hear Knight got shot...seems like an everyday occurence. If anyone sees the real-hip-hop, can you please tell them to come back? cos all we have left is the junk they keep feeding the youth.

And the north koreans remain stubborn in reviving their nuclear program. *sigh* we will inevitably destroy ourselves. Seems like karma.

Merck will most undoubtedly go banckrupt. and they deserve it. Drug companies walk all over public health just to make a few extra millions too often. I'm worried though that the fall-out will create a double effect.
1. good: other companies will learn to perform thorough clinical studies b4 putting any drug on the market
2. bad: other companies will learn to increase already high drug prices by claiming they performed thorough clinical studies b4 putting the drug on the market.

I guess we the masses lose regardless, as long as greed controls the steering wheel.

and the recent genocide in sudan that we all forgot to protest...never cognizant of the fact that the bullets in those guns and barrels bear the logo "made in America".

but we'd much rather pay attention to more "important stories" like T.O. acting like a 3yr old whining for more candy, and brad and Jen's divorce and jessica simpson's outfit at the awards. I think the term "third-world" should be re-defined.
Third-world: the lowest common form of living, thinking and acting. A nation embodied by the gospel of materialism and selfishness.

sound like any place you know?

Introduction...

for anyone who's not seen my other blog @ azeal.blogspot.com, my name, A'zeal. I'm an early 20-sumthin-yr old sista from around the block.

I wear a labcoat during the week (I'm a scientist) and pick up my microphone on the weekends.Spoken-word isn't simply what I do, it's what I am.

I've always been a song-writer and performer but i really got into performance poetry(spoken-word) about a year ago and I've fallen so deep in love, i cannot and don't want to be rescued.

On this blog I will share not just my thots, but urs as well...becos you see whether we realize it or not, most people struggle with the same things, experience the same frustrations, laugh and rejoice over the same victories and secretly cry on our pillows.

I hope you see urself in my words, hope you get angry or happy about sumthin I say, hope you holla back and tell me how brilliant or lame the post was, hope above all, you leave inspired and come back for more.

This is Soul Central. Welcome.
