It's not Just You

Okay so I've heard so much and gotten responses/emails and several friends asking me for advice/prayer...they're struggling with the monster called sex.
So many more people than you might realize are struggling with this, yes christians and even non-christians who want to abstain. Dotun left a very interesting response on this previous post and his conclusion, which is so true is that "there is no fast and blanket rule to it" and his advice, "we all need the holyspirit, i mean sincerely seek him in our relationship to know what to do. there is a solution for each specific relationship. He might tell you not to spend too much time together, your own might be not to be together at certain time of the day, yours might be during certain moods"
I know most people will try and fail when it comes to this cos its so complicated. 1 person called it an "unstoppable force". But i would call it an 'unstoppable force, that can only be stopped by the a stronger will-power. For anyone who's tryn to live a godly life, the spirit will lead and direct, but if ur willpower is weak, you won't be able to follow His direction. I say develop ur mental toughness, cos I've come to understand it all begins and ends in the matrix of the mind.
My friend Ezra suggested a sit-down n honest discussion. I'm all for that, but I'll ask folks to keep it real, no 'politics' cos people tend to wear masks n act like issall good when it really isn't. If you're struggling wit this, take heart cos #1, it's normal, you should be worried if you didn't feel those feelings, cos it would mean you're not human and sumthin is wrong wit ya! #2, no temptation is too great, willpower and mental toughness will help you survive but above all the HolySpirit will get you thru...can I get an AMEN?!

AMEN! I've never been in a relationship before so I've never struggled with the tempation of sex, but too many Christians I know struggle with sex as well.

You are right it takes willpower and the Holy Spirit. You have to set a standard for yourself. If kissing or hugging makes you weak and leads you into that temptation, then you need to cut that part out of your relationship until you're married.
Then you also gotta think about what are you letting into your mind and through your eyes. What are you listening too and what are you watching?

There is no temptation too strong that God has not made a way out of for us. The Holy Spirit will tell us that we need to watch out before we even walk into it, so if we're not listening to Him then we will miss it.

Good post.

good conclusion, dear, good one.
You know, recently the Lord has been prompting me to write a book on that subject. I'll make sure I do that before I get married so that my view wouldn't be distorted. I want to be able to write from the perspective of a struggling single guy.
